Electronics always get smaller and less expensive, and Boundless vaporizers are no exception. We got our hands on a pre-production CFC Lite and it’s pretty impressive. At under four inches tall and just over an inch in diameter, it’s the least imposing vaporizer in the Boundless catalog, and the expected CAD$75 price tag is unmatched as well. With a small size comes short battery life, but the Boundless CFC Lite has a removable battery so it won’t run out of steam.

The CFC Lite comes with some surprising features for a CAD$75 vaporizer, including a small footprint and replaceable battery, which makes up for the short run time. The ceramic conduction oven holds up to a quarter gram of dry herbs, no extracts here, and the air path is isolated from the electronics. Its barrel shape is more like the Boundless CFC 2.0 than the CF vaporizer, and it stands upright without help to make loading the oven easy.
Our Boundless CFC Lite is a pre-production model, and changes will be made after testing so it’s only going to get better from here, but it’s already got a lot going for it. We really like the shape, feel and weight -- it doesn’t feel like a cheap vaporizer, and will fit in any pocket. The CFC Lite only has three temperature selections that Boundless is still tweaking, but we found satisfying clouds on all three levels. The battery is easy to swap out and the controls are simple and intuitive. We’re looking forward to the combination of size, price, and performance the CFC Lite offers.
The Boundless CFC Lite is at the leading edge of a new trend of mini vaporizers. We saw three from different manufacturers at the last industry trade show we attended, and our favorites were the CFC Lite and the DaVinci MIQRO. Both have a replaceable 18350 battery, but hit different price points. The MIQRO is smaller than the CFC Lite, but also has a bigger price tag (CAD$195 and CAD$258). The CFC Lite combines this new, smaller form factor and replaceable battery with a rock-bottom price. We’ll have a full review after we put it through the gauntlet, but so far the Boundless CFC Lite is coming together nicely.
