Veazy Vaporizer Review: S&B's Most Affordable Vape Yet

Now you can have signature S&B vapor that is fluffy, tasty and potent in their most pocketable form factor yet...

Table of contents

The Storz & Bickel Veazy dry herb vape delivers top-shelf vapor and ease of use at a surprisingly low price! Now you can have signature S&B vapor that is fluffy, tasty, and potent in their most pocketable form factor yet for just CAN$349. If you’ve never tried a S&B vaporizer before, the Veazy might be the affordable temptation you need to give it a try.

Beginners will benefit from great vapor that lives up to a high bar, without first suffering through a sea of lesser vapes. The Veazy is easy to figure out and use, and the battery life should get average users through a couple days of use. It fits in any pocket or purse, and has a web app that can augment your sessions with custom options when you’re ready.

If you already have a Storz & Bickel portable vaporizer, you can probably skip the Veazy, as it doesn’t add anything to the lineup other than the form factor and colors. Likewise, if you use your vape all day long you’ll want something with better battery life, like the Venty. Bottom line, I think the Veazy is a good upgrade to the Crafty+, but lacks some of the higher-end features found in the Mighty+ and Venty.

Main Takeaway: The Veazy is a fantastic vaporizer for beginners to intermediate users, while heavier vaporists and those who love the latest tech will do better with the wide open air flow from the Venty

Veazy Pros & Cons

Pros 👍 Cons 👎
Storz & Bickel quality Controls are limited
Great vapor Must use app to customize temperatures and controls

Bottom line

The Veazy is a great vape that brings S&B quality to a lower price point, but doesn’t bring anything new to the table other than color options.

Vapor quality: Fluffy and comfortable

I found the Veazy vapor to be classic Storz & Bickel - not the tastiest or strongest vape, but a fantastic combination of the two that most vapes try to achieve. The vapor was fluffy and comfortable at all temperatures. Out of the box, the Veazy is set to 356°F (180 °C) with two boost modes that add 27°F (15 °C) each. I found myself using these three settings for most of my sessions because they are easy to access and provide distinctly different experiences.

At the stock temperature of 356°F, the vapor is light, tasty, and incredibly comfortable. Double-click the button for the first Boost mode, and the clouds increase while the taste turns more earthy. Double-click again to the Superboost mode, and the flavor progresses from tasteless to roasty, while the clouds thicken up and are more noticeable on the back of the throat.

The Veazy is shaped like the Venty, but it doesn’t hit like the Venty. The Veazy air flow isn’t as wide open, and instead feels a lot like the Mighty+ and Crafty+. The cooling unit on the Veazy is smaller than the other S&B portables, and the vapor is slightly warmer. Some of my friends thought the Veazy muted the taste more than the Venty, but my palate couldn’t tell the difference. At the end of the day, I think most people wouldn’t notice the differences in heat or taste unless they were able to compare the vapes side-by-side.

Fits comfortably in my pocket

The Veazy’s size and weight are fantastic. It easily fits in my front pocket and doesn’t weigh me down. It’s a little taller than the Crafty, but also slimmer, and I like how the Veazy fits my pocket better. My wife had no problems with the Veazy in her purse.

Dimensions:

  • Height: 5.28 in / 13.4 cm
  • Width: 1.46 in / 3.7 cm
  • Depth: 1.38in / 3.5 cm
  • Weight: 4.73 oz / 134 g

Average battery: Around 8 sessions per charge

The Veazy battery life should last the average user a couple of days before it needs a charge, which will be more than enough for beginners. Heavy users, however, risk disappointment.

I rate the Veazy battery life as average, with 7 to 8 bowls/sessions per charge depending on the settings used. To compare that to other Storz & Bickel portable dry herb vaporizers, that’s a couple sessions better than the Crafty, but several less than the Mighty+ and Venty.

On the test bench, where I run everything at or near 390°F (383°F for the Veazy), the Veazy delivered 8 sessions, 77 hits, and 42 minutes of runtime before kicking out. That’s decent, but not great battery life.

USB-C charge port with average charge time

You can charge the Veazy anywhere with its USB-C charge port. It comes with a USB-C to USB-C charge cable that will work on most laptops, but it lacks a charge plug. You’ll need to supply your own to charge the Veazy from a wall.

The Veazy doesn’t appear to have fast-charge capability. I charged it from dead to fully charged in about 90 minutes with the S&B Supercharger, which is a normal charge time, not fast.

Controls: One button and one light

The S&B Veazy controls are about as simple as you can get, with one button and one light. Press the button to turn it on, and when the light turns from orange to green, it’s time to vape.

You can cycle through three on-board settings by double-clicking the button (356°F / 180°C, 383°F / 195°C, 410°F / 210°C). These three settings provide a great Low / Medium / High temperature scale with clearly different experiences, and have become standard options on all S&B portable vapes. These settings can be changed via the web app.

My biggest gripe about these controls is that the two higher temperatures drop back down to the lowest temperature after 90 seconds, and I have to double-click the button again to raise it back up. Luckily, the Veazy has a companion web app we can use to tweak this setting, and many others.

Very functional web app

Without diving into the checkered past dry herb vapes have with smartphone apps, I’ll just say that the Storz & Bickel web app works really well. It worked flawlessly for me from both my iPhone and PC with every S&B vape I threw at it, including the Veazy.

With my PC, I used Chrome and had my Bluetooth turned on. From my iPhone, I had to use different Bluetooth-enabled browsers like Lablink or Bleufy. But the process was the same for both, and it worked every time. Here’s how it works:

  • Direct your Bluetooth-enabled web browser to app.storz-bickel.com.
  • Turn on your S&B vape.
  • Click “Connect” from your browser.
  • Choose your vape from the list that populates in the browser.
  • Once connected, explore and tweak your settings!

From the main screen, you can change the temperature and the boost settings, and toggle the temperature scale between Fahrenheit and Celsius. The “Settings” tab allows you to change a few things related to overall battery life, as well as the lights and vibrations. Most importantly to me, I was able to turn on “Permanent Boost”, which keeps the Veazy set to the higher boost settings, and it will no longer drop to the bottom temperature. For me, this is a must-do!

Solid heat-up time: 35 to 60 seconds

The Veazy heats up quickly enough, even if it’s not lightning fast. I like to start my sessions on the low temp (356°F / 180°C) and work my way up, and in that case, the Veazy got to temp in around 40 seconds.

I did a more standardized battery test on the workbench and ran it through a full battery set to 383°F (195°C), the default Boost temperature. Heat-up times ranged from 38 to 59 seconds (with an average of 48 seconds), and got longer as the battery got lower.

Oven size: 0.25g to 0.3g

The Veazy’s bowl is the same as the other S&B portable vapes, and it can hold the same dosing capsule. This bowl can hold anywhere from a quarter to a third of a gram at max capacity, and works well with partial loads, too.

The problem with reporting bowl size by how much herb it can hold is that everyone’s grind and pack is different. If you grind finer and pack tighter than I do, you’ll get more herbs in there. So let’s try something new and see if it catches on. The Veazy bowl is 7mm deep with a 15mm diameter, for a total volume of 1,385 cubic millimeters. By comparison, the Planet of the Vapes Lobo has a volume of 1,394 cubic millimeters.

One thing the S&B bowl has going for it is that it works really well with oversized loads. I can put a huge, mounding load in the bowl and cap it off perfectly with the cooling unit. So if you like to go big, the Veazy can accommodate!

Quality build

The Veazy’s weight and feel are just right - not too light or heavy, with a sturdy feel in the hand. While the vape seems simple with its one button and single light, the bluetooth web app reveals a depth and level of customization that is completely hidden from the naked eye.

The Veazy, like all Storz & Bickel vapes, prioritizes durability and has no glass or ceramic pieces that can easily break. The outer plastic shell is tough and, while some people feel like plastic is cheap, it keeps the vape cool to the touch. Metal shells are nice and feel strong, but they can get too hot to hold if not properly designed.

Build quality is where all Storz and Bickel vapes shine. They are the only manufacturer in the world that has medically certified vapes (the Volcano Medic and the Mighty Medic). While the medical versions are separate from the mass market vapes, they are only slightly different. Their standard vapes all benefit from the lessons learned and the excellent assembly lines, and we’re all better off for it.

Three new colors for S&B

For the first time ever, Storz & Bickel portable vapes are available in more color options than just the Halloween-themed black with orange accents - the Veazy comes in black, blue, orange, and pink! Now, whether you like the colors or not is a different story. I didn’t at first, but they have grown on me after a few weeks. The color is accented on all of these vapes with the orange button, light and charge port, which is consistent on all of them.

The new colors have a flat pastel feel to them when most other manufacturers use colors that sparkle and pop. When I first saw my orange Veazy, it took me back to when I was a kid playing with my plastic Playschool toys, only without the nostalgia. I felt bad that I didn’t like it, so I asked my family and friends, and only one out of five of them liked it when they first saw it. However, after a few weeks, it has grown on me, and I want to add the pink and blue to my collection.

Veay Vaporizer Review Three Colors

Most affordable S&B vaporizer

The Veazy vape will cost you CAN$349 before any discounts, which makes it Storz & Bickel’s most affordable portable dry herb vaporizer, tied with the desktop Plenty. Top shelf vapor at a better price is always a welcome thing, and we’re stoked to see this price point for a S&B portable vape.

At CAN$349, the Veazy is CAN$40 less than the Crafty+ vaporizer, and CAN$275 less than the Venty. I could see a world where the Veazy replaces the Crafty+ in the S&B catalog. The Veazy fits better in my pocket than the Crafty+, and I get one or two more sessions out of it per charge. The Venty, however, stands alone with amazingly wide open air flow that easily eclipses the Veazy hit.

What’s in the box

  • 1 x Veazy Dry Herb Vaporizer
  • 1 x Dosing Capsule
  • 1 x Stir Tool
  • 1 x USB-C to USB-C Charge Cable
  • 3 x Normal Screens
  • 3 x Coarse Screens
  • 2 x O-rings
  • 1 x Cleaning Brush

What I didn’t like

Other than the colors, which I’ve grown to like, the only things I don’t like about the Veazy are what it isn’t. It’s shaped like a smaller Venty, but isn’t like the Venty. It lacks the Venty’s air flow, battery life, and heat-up time. The Venty could really use a size reduction, but the Veazy isn’t it. The Veazy is more like a Crafty+ replacement than a mini-Venty.

2-year warranty

Storz & Bickel covers any workmanship and defect issues with the Veazy dry herb vaporizer for two years, with one additional year upon registration. Like all of our products, the Veazy is covered by our 100% Satisfaction Guarantee.

For best results

The Veazy is ready to go out of the box with a nice temp-step session, once you fully charge it, so let’s go through that session now.

  • Get your favorite grinder and grind your herbs to a medium-to-fine consistency.
  • Remove the cooling unit and fill the bowl with herbs up to the top of the darker side walls.
  • Replace the cooling unit and press the power button once.
  • The Veazy will buzz and the light will turn green when it’s ready to hit, which will be 356°F (180 °C) out of the box. Take two or three long, slow hits and enjoy the taste.
  • Double-click the power button until the light flashes orange.
  • When the light turns green again, the Veazy is ready to hit at 383°F (195 °C). Take a few more hits and enjoy the taste with clouds.
  • Double-click the power button again until the light flashes orange more quickly .
  • When the light turns green again, the Veazy is ready to hit at 410°F (210°C). Enjoy the clouds and keep hitting it until you’re done or the vapor fades.
  • Press the button to turn off the power.
  • Remove the cooling unit, dump out the bowl, brush off the bowl and screen, and replace the cooling unit.

Now you have a good taste for the entire vapor spectrum and can dial in your favorite temperatures for the next session!

Simple maintenance

Our Cleaning and Maintenance Guide is coming soon, but until then, make sure to empty out the bowl and brush off the cooling unit screen after each session. I can often set it down and forget, only to later find the herbs stuck in place.

A deeper clean requires a removal of the screens and disassembly of the cooling unit. Metal and PEEK plastic parts can be soaked in rubbing alcohol for no more than 30 minutes to remove the oils. After you rinse, dry, and reassemble everything, you’re ready to vape again!

Comparison: Veazy vs Venty

The Veazy is a smaller Venty in every way - size, price, feature set and vapor.  I had high hopes for the Veazy until I hit it and realized the air flow was restricted…it won’t replace anyone’s Venty. The Venty has something special with its wide open air flow that takes the work out of every hit.

What the Veazy has going for it is great value. While the Venty is one of the most expensive portable dry herb vaporizers you can buy, with performance to match, the Veazy makes compromises at every stage to deliver a near-Venty experience for nearly half the price. At CAN$349, Storz & Bickel portable vapor has never been this affordable!

Veazy Vaporizer Review Veazy vs Venty Comparison

Comparison: Veazy vs Crafty+

I think the Veazy perfectly replaces the Crafty+ in the S&B catalog, and won’t be surprised if they soon drop the Crafty+ altogether. The Veazy has an overall smaller form factor, better battery life, remarkably similar vapor and controls, but is CAN$40 less than the Crafty+. And you get to pick from four colors when you buy the Veazy. Don’t buy the Crafty+ anymore. Get the Veazy instead.

Who is the Veazy vaporizer for?

The Veazy would really shine as a first-time vaporizer, and is a great vaporizer for anyone who vapes a few bowls or less per day. The vapor is fantastic and the controls are super simple. The web app brings a level of customization that will continue to make the Veazy relevant with a little heavier use.

I also think the Veazy is good for people who haven’t had the S&B experience yet. Storz & Bickel vapes can be expensive, but this one is affordable enough for some to give it a try. I vaped for years on anything but S&B vapes due to the high price and, once I did, I understood the hype.

Who is the Veazy vaporizer not for?

If you already have a Storz & Bickel portable vaporizer, you can skip this one unless you must have the form factor or one of the colors. It doesn’t bring anything new to the market.

If you’re a heavier user, I would go for the Venty or Mighty+ instead, due to the longer battery life and shorter charge time. If you want the latest cutting-edge, go with the Venty and its amazingly wide-open air flow.

🔥 Veazy Scoring Breakdown

We rated the Veazy across 10 core categories. Here's how it scored:

Final Score: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 8.8/10 (84%)

Category Score
Vapor Quality 8
Ease of Use/Sharing 7
Build Quality & Durability 9
Portability 8
Efficiency 10
Battery Life 8
Cleaning & Maintenance 7
Value 8
Customization & Accessories 7
Warranty & Reliability 8
PAX Flow Rating: 8.8 / 10 (88%)

With a final score of 8.8 out of 10 (88%), the Veazy stands out as a true budget option for S&B fans. It’s also a fantastic choice as a first dry herb vaporizer.

Conclusion

I had a good time beating up the Veazy dry herb vape. I like the size, the flare the colors bring, and the sessions are classic Storz & Bickel. While it isn’t priced for tight budgets, it does bring top-quality vapor to a lower price point. The controls are simple and effective, with a web app to customize the sessions further when you’re ready.

In the same way that I would recommend the Venty over the Mighty+ to just about anyone, I would also recommend the Veazy over the Crafty+. The Veazy has slightly better battery life and a more pocket-friendly shape for CAN$40 less. Unfortunately, the Veazy isn’t a mini-Venty because the air flow is more restricted. The good news is that there is still room for S&B to improve.

Veazy Review FAQs:

Q: Is the Veazy dry herb vaporizer worth it?
A: Yes. It’s the lowest-priced S&B portable vaporizer and hits almost identically to the others. The Venty stands apart with its open air flow, but is also $200 more than the Veazy.

Q: Is the Veazy vape better than the Venty dry herb vape?
A: No. The Veazy is smaller and may be a better value, but it doesn’t hit the same. The Venty’s wide open air flow is remarkable and unique.

Q: Does the Veazy have fast charging?
A: No. The Veazy took around 90 minutes to fully charge using the S&B Supercharger, which indicates it doesn’t have fast charging.
