Charge it
Let’s give the Terp Pen XL a full charge before we get going. Plug the included charge cable into the usb port, located near the mouthpiece, and plug into a power source. It should only take about 45 minutes to charge from empty. The LED indicator will change from Red to Green when it’s ready to go.
Quick test
Let’s run it through a quick test run to make sure everything is in working order. Take a small amount of material and place it in the divot between the coils. Give it a good two second pull and look for any vapor. If so, you’re good to go! If not, disconnect the coil and let it charge for another full cycle.
Set the voltage
Now that your Terp Pen XL is ready to go, let’s set up for your first session. Triple-tap the wax pen near the USB port to cycle through the three voltages, and land on the Blue setting for this first session.
Each voltage/temperature setting is as follows:
Blue setting: 3.3V, 698° F/370° C
Green setting: 3.7V, 734° F/390° C
Red setting: 4.0V, 779° F/415° C
Load and hit it
The Terp Pen XL can vaporize concentrates in a number of ways. With either a cold start or hot load, place a specific amount onto the coil or dive right into your stash and have at it.
For this first session, let’s go with a cold start. Take a rice grain amount of material and scrape it directly onto the coil. When you’re ready to go, throw the cap on and take a nice, relaxed draw. The session is over when it stops producing vapor and the coil is clear of material, but you can stop sooner if you’re done.
Cleanup
The Terp Pen XL is an easy vaporizer to maintain thanks to its exposed heating coil. For an easy cleanup, unscrew and remove the outer shell below the coil, and inhale to activate the heater. This way, any leftover residue will vaporize into the air instead of your lungs. We’ll release a full cleaning guide soon with more details.
