Stylish design
The biggest and most noticeable achievement for DaVinci IQ is the overall style. They jumped way forward in design from the Ascent on this one. It looks good, feels good, and easily slips into your pocket. The 51 LED display matrix is awesome and communicates all the info you need in a unique way.
Bluetooth app + heating profiles
"The app is the absolute shit, and you know I don't like those." - Stickstones
The DaVinci IQ has four preset profiles that you can customize on the app, with sessions up to ten minutes long and three different heating steps to program. Using it is a breeze, drag the steps to the temp and timing you want and you're done.
The unit allows for fine temperature tuning on board, so you never have to use the app if you don't want to. You could also use the app once, set up a "Flavor Chaser" profile and a "Heavy Hitter" profile, then never use it again.
It's just nice that you don't have to use the app to get what you want out of the IQ, but also the flexibility is there.
Removable battery
A simple, but strong feature, the DaVinci IQ comes with a removable, rechargeable 18650, 3500mAh battery. Have one ready to go on the wall charger for quick change outs.
Flavor chamber
DaVinci added a unique feature to the IQ they're calling a "Flavor Chamber." Basically, it's a removable chamber between the oven and the mouthpiece that you can load herbs into. These herbs can impart flavor to the vapor and catch reclaim. Unloaded, the chamber will catch reclaim on the zirconia ceramic walls.
We'll have to see how vaporists actually use this feature, but I really like the ability to boost your efficiency and reduce cleaning by having a way to remove the "After Path" and reclaim any resins.
WTF is ceramic zirconia?
Basically, it's the good shit. Ceramics are comprised of a wide variety of materials and Zirconia (Zirconium Oxide, ZrO2) is the strongest and most durable of the fine ceramics. It has a melting point higher than that of glass is 20X stronger and is used in dental crowns, expensive Japanese knives and now, in the DaVinci
