The Dynavap 2020 M First Look

We got our hands on the new Dynavap 2020 M, and it’s gorgeous. But Dynavap didn’t just dress it up.

It’s that time of year again - time to get your new M on! We got our hands on the new Dynavap 2020 M, and it’s gorgeous. But Dynavap didn’t just dress it up. This version has ten significant design changes to appreciate. We’ll get to a full, meaty review later, but let’s quickly touch on the highlights.

A list of new stuff

There’s a lot of changes, so let’s get to it. From tip to mouthpiece, here’s what they did:

Captive cap (doesn’t fall off)
Double the airflow cuts
Adjust-A-Bowl (2 sizes)
Dodecagon (12-sided) shaped bowl
Heavier tip with different cooling fins
Artistic design stem
Chiral airport
Tapered mouthpiece
Mouthpiece o-ring groove
Recyclable packaging

The significance of each change is debatable, but we’ve divided them up into major and minor changes.

Major changes

The Captive Cap is fantastic, and doesn’t unintentionally fall off anymore. The Adjust-A-Bowl has been standard on titanium Dynavaps for years, but now the M gets the microdose treatment. Adjust the screen to either 0.1 or 0.05 gram sized bowls. Finally, the Chiral airports give you greater control over the airflow, and create an internal vortex and thicker vapor.
Minor changes aren’t so minor

The tip’s shape is now 12-sided, instead of cylindrical, and it’s heavier with thicker cooling fins. We’re not sure if these changes alter performance, but if nothing else, they’re fun to look at. The mouthpiece already fits 10mm glass pieces, but now it’s tapered for more grab, and the o-ring groove makes assembly easier. This year’s M is gorgeous, with a look and feel more like an Omnivap than previous M’s. Lastly, the packaging is now ecofriendly cardboard, instead of plastic.

Preorder now for $60

That’s right - you can preorder the 2020 M now for only $60. When it releases on April 1, the price will go up to $75. Even then, it’s a good deal, but $60 is ridiculous for this kind of performance. We’ll also continue to stock last year’s VapCap M 2019 until we run out of stock, so if you really want that model, now’s your last chance. Keep your eye out for our full review of this year’s M, where we’ll go over all the changes in greater detail.
