The Volcano Hybrid is back in action! After two months of anticipation, Storz & Bickel (S&B) has released the fix we’ve been waiting for, and the Hybrid is back on our shelves and ready for purchase. We have the vapes and parts you need to get this beast in your home and pushing out thick clouds.
Recap the problem
At the end of last year, problems with the Volcano Hybrid started to surface. The aluminum Filling Chamber scratched the aluminum Base Unit, creating concerns about metallic dust. S&B released updated use instructions, so we could keep using Hybrids while a permanent fix was found.
Permanent fix quickly found
In just two short months, S&B designed and tested multiple solutions before landing on the current fix. They also managed production, packaging and distribution - no small feat in such a short time.
The replacement parts are made of hard-anodized aluminum, coated in high-quality ceramic, that don’t scratch, but still conduct enough heat to preserve that signature Hybrid vapor.
Fast and easy installation
New Volcano Hybrids now come with the pieces in a separate box for the end user to install. Don’t worry, though, it’s the easiest permanent fix we’ve ever seen. First, pull out the screen on top of your Hybrid (and ruin it in the process - it’s okay).
Next, press the thin ceramic disc into place until it clicks.
Finally, replace the Filling Chamber insert with the new one (push it out from the bottom).
After that, you’re good to go.
Hybrid still crushes it
A big question we had was, will the Hybrid still crush us with that thick, potent vapor we’ve come to love? The answer is a relieved “yes”! The ceramic preserves the Hybrid’s special heat profile, and it still extracts faster and more thoroughly than our other vapes. This is the vape to get if you need strong, temperature specific vapor in a hurry.
Web app solution
Remember when Apple banned all vape apps just before this Hybrid problem surfaced? Well, S&B is leading the way for the industry there as well. They’ve released a web app for our smart phones and computers to control the Crafty+ and Volcano Hybrid, as a work-around for the app ban. They weren’t able to duplicate every function of the app, but this is a strong first step towards a real answer to this problem. We expect other companies to take note and follow suit.
