Pure vapor
DaVinci’s reputation for high quality vapor from dry herbs continues with the compact MIQRO. The ceramic oven and zirconia ceramic parts deliver the pure flavor of your herbs, while the internal vapor path with cooling mouthpiece produce smooth vapor. A fully packed oven can chuck out satisfying clouds, or you can extend the included pearl to reduce the oven size for smaller, more discreet sessions.
The MIQRO’s air flow depends on how tightly you pack it, and it does better with short to medium draws instead of longer ones. It comes with two mouthpieces, one flat and one with a 10mm extension, and we preferred the extended one because the flat mouthpiece was a little hot on the lips.
Ultra-portable size
The first thing you’ll probably notice about the MIQRO is its ultra-portable size. At ⅔ the size of the already-small DaVinci IQ, it’s one of the smallest portable vaporizers available. It has the same footprint of the PAX 2 but is ¾” shorter and, for those of you that have been around awhile, is only ½” taller than the Magic Flight Launch Box, but without the battery sticking out the side. You’ll easily forget the MIQRO’s in your pocket, making this a great every day carry for personal use.
Easy-to-load personal-sized bowl
The MIQRO is incredibly easy to load thanks to one of our favorite DaVinci innovations, the loading dock. Your herbs glide over the large, smooth, beveled surface right into the ceramic oven by gently tapping the side of the vaporizer.
Its oven is small, but the DaVinci MIQRO is ready for personal use. Full and tightly packed, it can hold up to a quarter-gram of dry herbs - enough for a potent solo session. The ingenious pearl attached to the oven lid extends with a twist to shrink the capacity all the way down to less than a tenth of a gram, for light use and micro-dosing.
Fast heat up with removable batteries
The MIQRO heats up in 30 seconds for quick use anywhere on a full charge, slows to 60 seconds on a dying battery, and we consistently got four sessions on a single charge. The user-replaceable 18350 900mAh battery is a welcome feature with such short battery life, and it charges in 45 minutes on an external charger. It can take as long as two hours to charge via USB, however, so we recommend having multiple batteries to keep the clouds going. The battery meter on our unit was surprisingly accurate and useful, with four bars that dropped once with each bowl. The MIQRO can be used while plugged in and charging, but it will still drain the battery faster than it replenishes, so it’s not really pass-through charging.
Intuitive controls
The MIQRO’s controls are simple to use and easy to learn, with three buttons that control everything without the need for a smartphone app. It has a unique dot matrix display that communicates a lot of information with just a glance, including the five-minute auto-shutoff timer. The DaVinci MIQRO goes beyond digital temperature control with three heating methods - precision tuning, smart paths, and boost.
Flexible temperature control
If you like to vaporize at a specific temperature, the MIQRO’s precision tuning will get you there, but we found ourselves using the smart paths more often. The MIQRO has four smart paths that start at 350° F, 370° F, 390° F and 410° F, and slowly increase by 20 degrees over five minutes. Finally, boost mode can be used with any temperature style; just hold the power button in and the temperature will climb until you release it.
Easy maintenance, but…
Cleaning the MIQRO is a double-edged sword. The oven only needs rubbing with alcohol and a cotton swab, while the pearl and vapor path are easily removed and soaked in alcohol and soapy water. It’s one of the few vaporizers on the market with a vapor path that comes out for more thorough cleanings.
But, similar to the DaVinci IQ, there is a stubborn spot between the oven and vapor path that is hard to clean. Eventually herbs build up on one side of this space and oils on the other, which can affect taste and smell. DaVinci redesigned this spot on the MIQRO to eliminate the herb buildup, but it looks like the oily side remains - only time will tell if it’s been fixed. The MIQRO isn’t made for heavy use like the IQ, so this shouldn’t build up as quickly, but it’s something to keep in mind if you prize a spotless vaporizer.
Two kits to choose from
The MIQRO is available in two kits, Standard Bundle and Explorer’s Collection. The Standard Kit has everything you need to get started, including one battery, two mouthpieces, a charge cable, and a cleaning kit. At CAD$159, it’s easy on the budget and is all you need for a few sessions when out for dinner and a movie. If you need to vape a little more than that between recharges, for CAD$63 more the Explorer’s Kit brings extra on-the-go vape time, with a key chain canister to hold herbs and the second battery, a zippered carrying case with a smell-proof herb compartment, a silicone glove/protective case, a grinder, and some spare parts.

Who is the DaVinci MIQRO for?
The MIQRO is built for light or occasional use. It’s great for solo sessions, a couple of hits between friends, or for the occasional hit here and there as you run around town. It’s low profile is great for stealth vaping, and the small oven lets you microdose. We’re pretty excited about the niche the DaVinci MIQRO hits. Budget shoppers and first-timers can enjoy a new level of quality at the CAD$159.95 price point with the Standard Kit. The size and style are endearing, and you’ll want to take the MIQRO everywhere. While most manufacturers zig with longer battery life that can vaporize for days, DaVinci zags with a short battery life that works for the lighter user, and might have found a sweet spot for a growing market that’s new to vaporizing dry herbs.
